Aircraft electrical wiring isn't just an assembly — it's a flight-critical, certifiable, regulated system. EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnection System) compliance has elevated wire harness manufacturing from a manual trade into an engineering discipline. LB Aircraft Engineering delivers wire harnesses to that standard from our AS9100D-certified Doral, FL facility.

Whether you need a build-to-print run from existing drawings, a clean-sheet harness engineered for an STC, or a prototype for flight test, we deliver harnesses that pass first-time on the bench, on the aircraft, and on the FAA review.

Capabilities

  • Build-to-print harness manufacturing from customer drawings
  • Engineered harnesses designed in AutoCAD against installation envelope models
  • Prototype, low-rate, and recurring production runs
  • Connector termination — D-sub, MIL-DTL-38999, ARINC, RF coax
  • Crimping per MIL specs and tooling-controlled crimp force monitoring
  • Solder, splice, and shield termination per IPC/WHMA-A-620
  • Electrical test — continuity, hipot, insulation resistance, custom test programs
  • Bonding straps, ground stud kits, EMI/lightning return paths

Quality Standards

  • AS9100D & ISO 9001:2015 — Cert No. 1119428, ANAB accredited
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 workmanship for cable and wire harness assemblies
  • EWIS compliance per 14 CFR Part 25 Subpart H principles for transport-category installs
  • FAA-PMA #PQ04306CE manufacturing authority
  • AS9102 First Article Inspection on every new part number
  • AS5553 Counterfeit Parts Prevention controls in supply chain
  • Lot & serial traceability retained for 10 years minimum

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you handle small quantities or just production runs?

Both. Many of our harnesses are one-off or low-rate — STC kits, prototypes, special-mission integrations. Our process scales from a single AOG harness to recurring fleet retrofit kits.

Can you support an AOG?

Yes. Quoted lead time on AOG harnesses depends on connector and component availability. With drawings in hand and parts on the shelf, we have turned same-week harness builds.

Do your harnesses come with FAA Form 8130-3?

For PMA parts and approved configurations, yes. We issue Form 8130-3 Authorized Release Certificates as part of the standard quality package on PMA shipments.

Need a Harness Built Right the First Time?

Send drawings, a BOM, or just photos of the system. We'll quote build-to-print, suggest design improvements where helpful, and lock a delivery date.
