An STC drawing is only useful if someone can build to it on time and to spec. As an FAA Parts Manufacturer Approval holder under PMA #PQ04306CE, LB Aircraft Engineering manufactures complete avionics retrofit kits in our AS9100D-certified Doral, FL facility — from custom-routed wire harnesses to fully kitted, traceable, FAA-conforming installation packages.

One vendor designs the modification, certifies it, manufactures the kit, and delivers it under a single Certificate of Conformance. That eliminates the gaps between engineering, vendor, and installer that typically delay retrofit programs.

What's in a Typical Avionics Kit

  • AutoCAD-designed wire harness assemblies, fully tested and labeled
  • Custom brackets, racks, mounting trays, and machined parts
  • Connector kits (D-sub, MIL-DTL-38999, ARINC) with backshells and contacts
  • Bonding straps, ground stud kits, RF coax assemblies
  • Installation hardware bagged-and-tagged by zone or station
  • Decals, placards, and AFMS supplement printouts
  • Full kit BOM, drawing list, and inspection records

FAA-PMA & AS9100D Quality

Our PMA approval (PQ04306CE) authorizes us to manufacture replacement and modification parts to our own approved design data. Every shipment carries:

  • FAA Form 8130-3 Authorized Release Certificate (when applicable)
  • Certificate of Conformance against the controlled drawing revision
  • Traceability to raw material lot, special process certifications, and operator
  • First Article Inspection per AS9102 for new part numbers
  • Counterfeit parts prevention controls per AS5553

Engineering-to-Manufacturing Workflow

Because we own the certification basis and the design data, we eliminate the bottleneck that typically slows retrofit programs:

1. STC engineering & data package
2. PMA design data approval
3. AS9100D production planning & FAI
4. Kit build, test, and inspection
5. Packaged delivery with full traceability
6. Field engineering support during installation

Industries Served

  • Air carriers running fleet-wide avionics retrofits
  • Part 145 repair stations executing customer modifications
  • Defense primes installing on civil-derivative platforms
  • VIP completions centers and corporate flight departments
  • Special-mission integrators (ISR, surveillance, medevac, firefighting)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you build kits to my STC drawings?

Yes — under a Build-to-Print (BTP) arrangement, with the necessary design organization approval letter. We also welcome the more common case where we engineer the STC and the kit together so you have a single source.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We routinely ship to operators and MROs in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Export documentation, EASA Form 1 (when required via partner DOA), and shipping support are part of the package.

What's your typical lead time?

For a previously certified kit, lead time runs 4–8 weeks depending on quantity and component availability. New kits with new STC engineering align to the certification schedule.

Need a Kit Built and Shipped on Schedule?

Send us the BOM, the drawings, or just a description of the modification. We'll come back with a quote, a lead time, and quality terms.
